Introducing The SomaField Approach to Transformational Client Work

I’ve been quietly weaving something for a long time now—through years of client sessions, mentorship groups, deep inner work, and study. And I’m finally ready to name it:

SomaField is here.

SomaField is a trauma-informed, somatically-rooted, relational approach to transformational client work. It’s a way of being with our clients that draws on the body, the moment, and the field between us as living sources of truth—held within a grounded framework of refined therapeutic skill, discernment, and care.

SomaField was born from my deep belief that how we are with clients is more important than what we do. And from witnessing, over and over again, that healing happens not just through insight or strategy, but through contact. Through being met. Through safety that’s felt and reliable.

This modality is for the practitioners who know that:

  • Nervous systems speak to nervous systems. Regulation is contagious—and so is urgency.

  • Presence is a technique in itself.

  • The body speaks what words sometimes can’t.

  • Pacing, attunement, and permission can be more transformational than a thousand words.

  • Healing doesn’t happen in a vacuum—it’s shaped by culture, power, identity, and the histories we carry in our bodies.

  • The depth we can hold for others is shaped by the depth we’ve met in ourselves.

  • What’s unspoken in the room is just as important as what’s said.

  • Clients don’t need to be fixed, they need us to facilitate conditions for their transformation to emerge in its own time and direction.

SomaField offers a map, a language, and a set of guiding principles to support you in how you hold the field, how you track what’s happening beneath the surface, and how you meet each client as a unique and unfolding system.

At the heart of this modality are eight core principles—pillars that hold the shape of the work. I’ll be sharing each of them in the coming months, as a way to ground this approach into something you can begin to feel, explore, and make your own.

If you've worked with me in any capacity—whether through mentorship, sessions, or group work—then you’ve already felt some of the SomaField approach. Now it has a name, a shape, and a place to grow.

If you're a practitioner who senses there's more available in the art of how we make decisions in session, SomaField was made with you in mind.

I’d love for you to share this with other therapists and coaches in your world who are walking this path.

More soon.
